Tung Lung Island is a very small island off to the east of the Hong Kong island. It means the "East Dragon" in Cantonese. It is famous for rock climbing at the local cliffs. However,
Itwas the first time for me here to explore such an island. There is a paved round-the-island trail, I followed through to visit first the rock
carvings. The carvings symbolized a dragon.
After about 1 hour of boring paved trail, we reached a helipad on the top of the hill. We then went through about 200 metres of bushes downhill towards
the old fort. Here we found the ruins of the old fortress.
Off to the east of the fortress ruins lies the cliff for rock climbing, we saw a few people climbing there. After that, we were off to
the characteri "Holiday Store" for its famous Wonton noodle soup.
We first went to see the rock carving.
To get to the rock carving, we need to climb down these stairs.
Overseeing the harbour between the Tung Lung Island and Hong Kong Island.
This supposes to look like a dragon.
Rock formation near the carving.
Climbing up these stairs, .. yeak ....
Through these bushes, my sis and I climbed down from the hilltop to the fortress ruin.
Suddenly a gust of mist went by, ....cool.
Facing west, we can see "Clear Water Bay".
These are some of the cliffs for rock climbing.
The fortress wall, 4 feet thick.
Still very sturdy .....
Don't worry, I am not going to jump off the cliff.
During weekend, it is one of the favourite sites to hang out.
