Po Toi Island is the southernmost island in the Hong Kong. It took us about 1 hr boat ride from Aberdeen (South shore of Hong Kong Island). Coincidently, the day that we chose to go was during the week of celebrating "Tin Hau" festival, a traditional festival for fishermen to celebrate for their safe journeys and to pray for good luck. "Tin Hau" symbolize the Buddha safe guarding the sea for all fishermen.

We got off the boat, and went to the Tin Hau Temple. There was a big celebration including a temporary stage for a traditional drama. The idea was to present a week of drama performances to Tin Hau, and that was why the stage was built right in front of the temple.

After seeing some of the preparation of the celebration, we hiked up a few hundred metres. From far, we can see the bay of Po Toi, where more and more boats were arriving for the Tin Hau festival celebration. Continued on the trail, we saw a lot of different rock formations. A lot of these rock formations were named for what they looked like.
