Mom, I am flying
View Slide Show

We had been talking about paragliding for so long. Yvonne and Diana bailed out at the last minute, and it's only me and Carmen. We had to hike up to the peak from the Grouse Mountain Chalet, carrying our glide chute on our back.

It was a perfect day for this, a lot of sun. The flying instructors laid out the chute on the runway, and stared gearing us up. They explained that it wasn't the wind the keep us up. It was the heat from the sun bounced off the hillside and carried the chute up.

Carmen went first. I watched her slowly rising, getting higher and higher. By the way I am ready, the sun was hiding in the clouds. I didn't get lucky to rise higher like Carmen did. But it's very fun.

Hey, I didn't cut and paste my feet in this picture !

Carmen ended up staying the air longer because she got higher in the begining. I landed first, watched her spiralling down in big circles. I came through the same thing, and the spiralling acutally made us want to puke. Watch the video. It's fun
