Clothing - above the waist

  • Toque or Hat
  • Baseball cap / Visor / Sombrero
  • Bandana
  • Non-cotton underwear/sports bras
    (usually 1 per day)
  • Non-cotton Short-sleeve T-shirt
    (1 per day)
  • Non-cotton Long sleeve shirt
    (for sun protection)
  • Midweight Fleece Sweater / Jacket
  • Gore-tex / Rain Jacket
  • Lightweight non-cotton or fleece gloves

    (for winter / cold weather)
  • Non-cotton Long-sleeve underwear
    (usually 1 per two days)
  • Non-cotton Long-sleeve T-shirt
    (1 per two days)
  • Heavyweight Fleece Sweat / Jacket
  • Synthetic / Down Parka Jacket
  • Heavyweight Wool/Fleece Gloves/Mittens with shells
  • Fleece Neck Gaiter
Clothing - below the waist

  • Non-cotton underwear
    (usually 1 per day)
  • 2 pairs of Quick-dry shorts with pockets
  • Lightweight Windpants

    (or Thermarest and Repair Kit)
  • Sleeping Bag packed in plastic bag inside the stuff sack
  • Sleeping Bag Liner
Tools

  • Trekking Poles
  • A Headlamp or Flashlight
  • A small Multi-tool or Swiss Army Knife
  • A Whistle
 
Personal Hygiene Kit

  • Half roll of toilet Paper
  • Toothbrush / toothpaste / floss
  • Antibacterial hand soap
  • Lip Balm / Chap Stick
  • Non-scented lotion
  • Alcohol based baby wipes
    (use them to clean your body, trust me, they're good to bring)
  • Baby powder
    (use it to remove stinkiness in sleeping bags and keep you dry)
  • A dry-fast towel
  • Pads / Tampons (for ladies)
  • A Nail-clipper
    (Boots may make your long toe nails hurt)
Eating Utensils

  • A deep bowl
    (I will suggest a 500ml measuring cup, it has a good handle and it is deep)
  • A metal spoon
    (Plastic ones can melt and break, forks will make holes in other things)
  • Insulated Mug
  • 1-Litre Nalgene Water Bottle / 2-Litre Water Bladder
  • Insulated Mug
