Finally, I went to Crater Lake in the spring, where snow was still covering the crater ....
The trip started as a cycling trip with Alex. We went to Bend, OR for a few days, cycling and touring the vicinity. And on
a sunny day, we went up to Crater Lake and do come cross country skiing.
As expected, we have 14+ feet of snow still on the ground. Crater lake road was just being plowed. We skiied around the Visitor
Center for about 40 min, and ran into some dangerous terrain that we couldn't pass through with our skinny XC skis, and we turned
back to the VC for some lunch.
My goal was also to hunt down the plowing machine. The ones that can shoot snow up to 15 feet high to build snow banks. We hiked
about 4 miles and met the beast.
We ran into a lovely tourist .... wearing sandals ...brrrr...
