This time, Tyson, Brendan, Naama, Christine, Carleton and I went up to Hidden Lake, Mt Seymour Provincial Park to build our second igloo. The snow on Hidden Lake was deep, but different sections of the lake have different snow desnity. At first, we scouted the area and locate a relatively flat sport beside a tree. But later we found out that the snow wasn't packed enough for making blocks out of it.

We moved to another spot where it was closer to an old dug-up trench. The old trench provided us a solid firm snow quarry. The top layer from there was almost solid ice. Tyson and Naama laid out the base layer, while the rest of us started cutting blocks.

For 4 hours straight, we cut many many blocks, most of them are good. We had our moments of frustration after a while, as we ran out of solid packed snow, we had to excavate a new section to find better snow to make blocks.

Circling blocks up to the 5 layers, the igloo slowly show itself in shape. We kept cutting and transferring blocks inside the base before we stacked them up too high, becoming impossible to bring blocks in.

Anya arrived late at about 2:30pm, and she helped dug out a tunnel connecting the entrance of the igloo. Brendan was inside the igloo most of the time stacking the blocks up. I joined to complete the last 4 blocks to close up the roof. It was a success.
