Our 8th annual ritual to Snowdomia was celebrated at Mt Seymour. Tyson and Eileen have chosen the First Pump Peak as
this year's venue. A very easy access from parking lot, I went in on a blue-bird day, absolutely no chance of rain, and
only sunshine.
It took about 1 hour to reach the First Peak, and from there I could see the snowdomia village down at the first pump, overlooking
the city of Vancouver. The view was undisputably gorgeous. I quickly strolled down to the village, and found already
a party of 3 caves, a few tents and a kitchen area.
Jan had started to dig in for a party cave. I took baton and started digging the party cave, the estimated size is for 20+ people.
And I would use the party cave as my sleeping quarter as well. As I dug, Britta, Isabel, and Tyson came along and helped. After 5 hours
of digging, we had our party cave.
Watching the sunset going down in front of us, the party cave slowly filled up with people. Before the evening fully sank in, our party cave
had already filled. Reluctantly, we decide to do the renovation, extending one side put up more seats. Another 45 min of digging, we
added 10 more seats.
Party started and celebrated with sparkles, Eileen's electric jello, endless supply of chocolates, and champagne ! Countdown of the new
year ignited our cheery emotions. Another year had passed and another year just started.
The morning after, we found ourselves enjoying the warmth of the sunshine, but reluctantly we dispersed and departed the village, only
to return for next year's snowdomia.
