A short weekend trip up to Hex Mountain near Roslyn, WA. Upon arriving the road side, snow accumlation was not bad. Not unitl
we were on the logging road up, we realized there is barely 1 feet of hardpacked snow ice all the way up till 3800'.
Though feeling disappointed by the snow condition, it started snowing where we get to about 800' below the ridge line. Wind picked
up when we went over the pass to face south. Well, the fierce wind for a moment added some excitement with a bit of fresh powder snow.
Took off the skins, and off we went on a clearcuy slope with stumps sticking out all over the place. A few turns here and there, we
were down crossing the logging road switchbacks. Down another slope, crossed another switchback, down another slope, we found nothing
but hard packed snow.
At the end, we skiied down on the logging road. Not really an enjoyable experience, but worth a few hours of aerobic exercises.
