Though it was not a perfect day for hiking, it turned out to be an interesting hike. It was cold in the morning, considering
we were already past mid-April. The steep and long switchbacks warmed us up very quickly. The trail was quite well maintained.
There are a few viewpoints along the trail where it opens a view to the Sound.
What amazed us was that half way up the trail, we started seeing traces of snow, and then more and more snow was seen covering patches of
the slopes. It was not spring, it looked like the first snow in fall.
It took us not long to reach the Dome, overlooking the valley and the Bay.
Stripping down layers, quite in-sync doing that !
1st viewpoint
Still going up .. more switchbacks
First signage I saw on the trail,....
Traces of snow ....
And then snow covered trail ... wow, what is going on ?
It was very strange to see this snow scene past mid-April
Just like in the fall ....
More and more snow, .. what can I say ?
Top of Oyster Dome, ...you can still see traces of snow on the trees.
