This year's Snowdomia remained in Mt Baker. Weather was not that great, it was forecasted to rain on New Year Eve.
I arrived at the parking lot, and ran into Eileen. When she told me that a few people were going to pull out because
they got sick during the past few days.
Brenton and his friends, Ian and his girlfriend decided to go home without celebrating New Year Eve with us. I bumped into them as I was going to the campsite.
Ian and his girlfriend were building an igloo but unable to finish it up because of the weather and snow condition. When I arrived, I started to cut more blocks and plan to continue building their unfinished igloo. I put up 2 more rows of blocks and the storm starts coming in. Without much help, I abandoned the idea, and turned to look into enlarging the existing
snowcave that were shared by Tyson, Hans, Jen and Paul.
As the evening approached, the weather turned on us, and started dumping inches of wet wet snow. All of us snugged into the cave and started the party. My iPod speakers worked well, provided music for everyone. Out from nowhere, Sara and Andrew showed up and evolve from the storm. They made it.
After a few hours of trash talking and games, East coast New year was celebrated. More and more beers, boos and food, new years were celebrated on the hour. Finally, it was pacific time. More Champagne were opened ....
The storm became worse and worse, it must have been so windy out there. Eileen, Anya & Silvia, Sara & Andrew were the brave
ones who stayed in their tents outside. Watch the video below, Sara described how windy it was.
