Is it a good sign to go up Mailbox on such a cold day ?

On this Mother's Day weekend, Mani, Sam, Franklin and I went to Mt St Helens to tackle the 8300 ft summit. The weather forecast was good. As we left Seattle, temperature has already risen to mid-60s. We stopped at Cougr to pick up our permits and had lunch. It was 74°F (23°C).

Going up for the first 2000ft elevation was not difficult, but very hot. Not until we got around 4100ft, we got some wind. We picked a dry spot on small ridge and set camp. It was so wonderful that we camped on dry land, but surrounded by pure snow.
