Mt. Baker is still frozen
103 Hikes Trail No. 70 Elk Mountain.

It was a sunny Saturday and I have waited a long time for the clear and sunny weather. Elk Mountain in located in Chilliwack, BC. It is one of those trails that have easy access and nice views. However you need the clear sky to enjoy the view.

We have been getting sunny and dry weather for a week. We knew it would be perfect to hike this trail to Elk Mountain. The first 1½ hour was completely in the woods and well shaded. And suddenly the jaw-dropping views showed up when we got to the ridge. We saw the entire Fraser Valley, part of the Coast Mountain Range and the Garibaldi in the north. This trail also offered us a front-row seat for viewing Mt. Baker.
