103 Hikes Trail No. 56 Diez Vistas.

Another perfect day to hike in Lower Mainland. According to the weather report, it broke the record of cumulated sunny hours for February. We picked a trail around Buntzen Lake that allows us to see both the Indian Arm and the Lake, Diez Vistas Trail. This trail is maintained by BC Hydro, that also maintain Buntzen Lake for power generation.

It started off very cold, but the sun was slowly heating up the ground. Crossing the south end of the Lake, we saw the very low water level at the lake, the floating bridge wasn't even floating !!

Steep trail all the way to the viewpoint, we didn't realize how steep it really was until we looked back and actually saw the danger of the trail. Well, we got through most of the steep uphill section before our lunch. We stopped at a viewpoint, expecting the sun to shine on us. Unfortunately, we were soon pushed out by the "Air Cadet" crew.

There weren't many good viewpoints on this trail until we reached the the other side of the Buntzen Lake, looking back towards the west. Overall, a very enjoyable day !!
